FOOD FOR THOUGHT
by
Charles T. McGrath
Each evening we sit my family of five, to eat and digest
the swiftly passing time;
And each day I’m more stricken to see the evolving of my
family of three;
How subtle it is, but brutal when facing reality.
“It was just last week, wasn’t it? Molly sat there in her
highchair.”
“Remember when Cody sat here and Carter sat there?”
“That was so mom could catch him if he missed his nap”.
“Nope. Dad’s stories put me to sleep”.
“Eat, before dinner gets cold”.
“Well, here’s a story that will wake everybody up…”
Each evening we sit, my family of five, to eat and digest
the passing time;
But now I’m less stricken at least, for my stories are
more about living in PEACE.
