ON THE DAY THE ROCKETS CAME
by
Charles T. McGrath
On the day the rockets came all gods claimed their dues,
still justifying existence, while all along rationalizing extinction, on the
day the rockets came.
On the day the shock waves came four billion human beings
perished, three billion live, dying, no savior assigned, all things on
Earth, the Earth itself was in peril, on the day the shock waves came.
On the day the fires came Earth was hell, just as hell is
supposed to be, a place to die for eternity. Satan ruled supreme, on the day
the fires came.
On the day the darkness came was history about to repeat?
But this time would there be a new beginning? And then through the
blackness, ever so dim, glowed reality, on the day the darkness came.
On the day the skies cleared, philosophies, religions,
governments, war and fear in any form, were outlawed. The only philosophy,
the single religion, the only government allowed, is PEACE. The only war
waged, waged in PEACE, the only fear permitted, the fear of losing PEACE, on
the day the skies cleared.
On the day the fire came prophecies of PEACE consumed
humanity and universal respect disbanded borders, uniting the world in
PEACE, on the day the fires came.
On the day the shock wave came love inspired spiritual
awareness and the devil lay dead, never to rise again in PEACE. All things
on Earth, the Earth itself, lived in PEACE, on the day the shock waves came.
On the day the rockets came mankind rejoiced in PEACE, all
memories of pain and suffering forgotten, all memories of hurt and fear
extinct. Children never knowing not living in a world of PEACE, on the day
the rockets came.
