The Final Battle

THE FINAL BATTLE

by

Charles T. McGrath

Hemispheres rumbled, Continents shook, borders crumbled barriers no more, only piles of rubble the remembrances of war; and the Earth stood still, for just a time, as PEACE descended upon mankind. Prejudice now gone, buried with words of violence and hate, while burning faith consumes power and greed lifting black clouds filtering fear extinct. Weapons are gone, attitudes that kill, along with rulers of vengeance, despair, providers of ill will. Hunger is gone, no thirst to quench, disease now history, myths first went. Need is gone, there is no need, all things cared for in time and place. The battle is over, PEACE has won, Earth not being an only son; the battle is over in this final war, our Universe now in perfect accord.
